Yoni Shakti

In Tantra, the Yoni is the cosmic womb, the source of all creation, the raw primordial energy from which all life emerges. In various spiritual traditions, the Yoni Triangle symbolises awakening and transformation.
This series grew out of my own journey of confronting and unlearning internalised misogyny, creating space for the divine feminine to reveal herself. When I seek guidance, her symbols appear in the most unexpected places.
I see no coincidence that the Great Awakening of our generation, centred around Palestine, incorporates iconography resembling Yoni Shakti. Devi knows that our evolution lies in our unity and interconnectedness.
Each piece in this series begins as a thrifted fast fashion item, repaired, reimagined, sometimes dyed. It takes 2,000 gallons of water to produce one pair of jeans. Every garment saved is a small act of resistance.
